My current projects are running very slow, but I thought I’d share an older piece.
This is the follow up to “Novice and Veteran: [link]
When I was working on adding serious bruises and blood to my work, this was one of my test pics. It dates from early in Tara’s career as a pro, and she had a chance to take a fight when Stephanie’s opponent was injured in training. Despite Stephanie’s experience—and almost unbroken string of knockouts—she took the fight. As you can see, she paid a steep price, as the shorter, but heavier, woman completely demolished her. The fight was decided in the first round, but the knockout didn’t happen until the fifth, Tara absorbing a terrible pounding. (And what you can’t see, under that stained yellow top) is just as bad.)
Of all the fighters out there, Stephanie is the one Tara most wants a rematch with—not just for the loss, but the manner of the loss. Stephanie could have knocked her out in the second round, but chose to prolong it, smiling as she got a good workout on her redheaded heavy bag.
The rematch will happen…
(I know Steph’s top isn’t quite right—I might fix it. But for now, it was a case of no art posted for a bit yet, or sharing this oldie but, I think, goodie.)
