My First Knockout revised and expanded

I've been working on "My First Knockout," and reached the official beginning of the fight.  I posted the whole thing to date, as I've also made some mild changes in the earlier part.  Next post will have the punches flying-lots of them.  Kids tend to fight all out, not worrying about subsequent rounds as they hammer each other.
So--what think you all about both the story, and my writing ability?  This is still as much an exercise in improving my writing skills as it is telling a stroy--a story that I hope will be enjoyable.
