Melissa’s standing there as I grasp the ropes, trying to clear my head—then says, softly, “Get up—if you’ve got the guts for it—I’m not done with you…”
Ever since she maneuvered me into the ring, she’s had things all her way, and it’s only going to get worse—but I’m not give to give her the satisfaction of having me give up. Instead, I’m going to struggle to my feet and face her like a woman—try to hurt her, and if I can’t—well, it’s going to hurt, and hurt bad.
A pro fight would have been stopped—but this is a private grudge fight; they get nasty. She wants me to remember this fight for a long time—and she’s already insured that I will—but she’s not satisfied yet. She’s dominated me from the opening bell, and it’s only become more lopsided as the fight (if it can be called that anymore) progresses. There’s less than a minute left in the round—but that’s still time to really lay on some hurt. And then, I get a minute to contemplate my pain, and her power, before facing her fists again.
