Sometimes, raw power isn’t enough, even coupled with skill. The new lass, who has been nicknamed “Guns” for obvious reasons, has not had a good day in the ring with me. She caught me with some hard punches, but mostly, her blows caught air, as I hit and moved, using my reach and speed to dismantle her.
She doesn’t lack for heart—or the ability to take a punch—and it’s taken me 7 tiring rounds to finally knock her out. Her entire face and body—everywhere it’s legal to hit—are showing the effects of repeated hard stinging blows with the 8 ounce gloves, and she finally can’t stand up to the punishment. Her left eye is swollen completely shut, and that ended up being the deciding factor; she couldn’t even see the left hook coming. Naptime!
Of course, she will want a rematch…
