I’m taking a few of my favorite pics, and revising or updating them. This one just needed some new textures where I didn’t have the skill to put them—subtle things like the actual texture on the gloves and the like. The positionong, expersions, etc ne3eded no improvements that I could see.
So, here’s the revision of the work I’m most pleased with.
Here’s what I said when I posted the original:
Here’s another pic of the brutal fight (or perhaps “beating” would be a better word for it) between Tara and Liz. Tara’s down yet again, clinging to the ropes, and struggling to regain her feet. After 4 knockdowns, there’s no way she can win, but still, she will pull herself upright to face Liz’s fists again. And Liz will oblige her, pounding sweat-sodden 8 ounce gloves into her hapless victim, as Scrap looks on, seeing her teacher reduced to a punching bag.
Yet, Scrap is one reason that Tara is determined to get back to her feet—she won’t show any sign of quit in front of the kid—or Rose, who’s about to move in and start the count. Of course, she likely wouldn’t quit anyway—she’s just not wired that way. And—she wants Liz to know that, whatever happens—no matter how badly she’s beat up—she has no fear.
What will each of them learn from this mismatch? Scrap is wearing a shirt with the same label as Tara’s—and has seen that Liz "gave it to her" really enthusiastically—and watched Liz smile as she "gave it to her" repeatedly in the chest--as well as the face, the ribs, and more. Will she have second thoughts about wearing a top like that?
This pic was partly inspired by Drew, who mentioned liking this point of view. I like it also—but some software problems prevented it from rendering well, so I put it on pause. I got inspired to pull the half-finished work out, and finish it up. It tested my photomanipulation skills, but I think the result is worthwhile.
Little more need to be said—except that there WILL be a rematch. (And that one will be topless!)
