The Heavyweight's Dilemma

The Heavyweight Champion: In times past, before the alphabet soup of “sanctioning” organizations and a bunch of “Heavyweight Champions of the World,” the mere phrase, “Heavyweight Champ” was one of the most respected sports titles around. But getting close to a title shot required a lot of work, a lot of violence, and some serious competition.

And here we see the young black contender facing one of the biggest dilemmas in boxing, and answering it. The heavyweight division is the only one that can have such a huge disparity in size and weight, since it’s “175 pounds and up,” or was in times past. The contender is just over 175, and sometimes goes down to fight at light heavyweight, but has her eye on the big prize. Not only that, the young lass has publicly stated that she will fight anyone, any time—and that specifically includes a giantess like Maria.

The referee hasn’t seen a woman boxer quite this big—but them she’s only refereed 4 pro fights so far; her inexperience could make it interesting.

This is the first time the black lass (I hope to have her named by tomorrow) has been scheduled for a 6 round fight—though she’s only gone past the first round once—and never gone past the half-way mark in round two.
